The UPA to win the elections

CNN-IBN-CSDS nationwide poll says  The United Progressive Alliance [UPA] headed by Indian National Congress seems brawny enough to clinch power at New Delhi.  Election is still 10 weeks away, but things look bleak for the main opposition National Democratic Alliance [NDA], parachuted by the pro-hindu BJP.

UPA are projected to get 235 seats while NDA are envisioned at 185.

In the backdrop of this poll, one thing stands out – It will be a hung parliament dominated by UPA. But, question is can 3rd front play an important role ??

The communist parties are tipped to get around 35 seats, making them an important post election factor.

Jayalalitha and Mayawati also can be seen as trump cards if everything falls in place for them.

States like Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu will play an important role in deciding who will get the mandate in the coming election.

NEED OF THE HOUR: Both main political groups in the country should stitch up more regional alliances so that they can move up their tally ‘closer’ to that elusive figure of 272.

Poll projects UPA+NDA < 272.

so one really cannot get an answer to the question ”who will become India’s next Prime Minister”.

Unless the third front headed by the communist parties comes to power, I really dont see any change in India’s foreign policy as such. So, India’s smooth sailing seems to continue without much trouble in the prevailing situation.
