denial game..

Pakistan Foreign Minister is still asking for evidence from India on the Mumbai terror even as one of the top Pakistani newspaper reports that the arrested terrorist’s father identified his son’s photo. According to the father, his son ran off from home four years ago. But, Pakistan govt is still singing the old song of denial. I think world community should press Pakistani diplomats for more juice on this fight against terrorism. I think the renouned muslim leaders, celebreties, and personalities should come forward and advertise for moderism in their religion. World cannot just accept the fact that a certain elements in the muslim religion is responsible for the violence eminating from that religion, so there is no point in blaming the whole religion. It is the duty of the moderate and law-abiding muslims to adverstise hard for their true belief. They should send that message left and right, and try to guide their rudderless youth back to the main stream of their religion.

Anyway, as a reaction to the Mumbai attacks, Indian politicians are surprisingly taking an united stand on the creation of a national agency to fight terror – the National Intelligence Agency. It is said to be moulded in the same mould as that of US’ Federal Bureau of Investigation. I have serious doubts about this agency. India already has a central investigating agency called CBI which works under the central government. But problem with the CBI is ruling party or the coalition always have a tight grip on it and mostly uses it for their political gains. Previously, India had a tough terror law called POTA which gave govt. high powers when it comes to dealing with terror related things. But the hindu party, BJP, allegedly used that law against the muslims in a biased basis and the whole thing resulted in the banning of POTA by the Congress party when they came to power. The congress party which is a much more secular in nature compared to BJP, in addition to banning the POTA, has gone ahead with an array of reservations for the muslims and other lower casts in India. BJP blames the Congress of Vote Bank Politics on the basis of these kinds of lavish reservations for the muslims.

Well…the problems that India face are gruesome. I think solution to those worrisome problems are in taking tough stands on them and guiding the anger and frustration that has scarred the hearts and minds of the people into a proper channel and moulding it to a constructive phenomena of nation building instead of politicking with the hurted minds.

India cannot do much in these new political [and nuclear] world other than adopting a tough diplomatic stand on these kinds of issues. India should not show double standards as USA shows on the matters of terror. Terror is only gona hurt people, whichever nation they belong to. On this view, India should help Srilanka in their fight against LTTE terrorism. India can help them in different ways. Indian Prime Minister taking a solid stand against the TamilNadu politicians who crave for Indian support to the LTTE should a strong and effective way to show India’s stand against the phenomena of terror.

I dont think Pakistan can do much on their bad political situation either. Their government and reality are travelling on different tracks. I think the political parties in Pakistan, all of them, should come forward and address the reform of their religious views. They should drill the facts on the religious schools that operate in the various part of their country about the moderate outlook that Islam teaches. Pakistan should modernise their educational system, they should look for a buddy-buddy relationship with India. Instead of trying to destabilize India, I think they should help India to bring development in the subcontinent. I think it can only be possible if whole political wing of Pakistan wash off their hands on petty denial games and face the reality with a brave mind. India should help Pakistan and bring the dilapidated nation back into a prosperous route. On a much much larger scale, one should think of the fact that once a wall seperated the people of Germany for years…the mighty will of the people brought that wall down…only if..people of India and Pakistan had that will..
