Humans are arrogant, very arrogant that they dont like to call themselves as animals, they just dont want to believe or acknowledge that they come from their ape anscestors. This is the case when humans start to think deep into the more important questions like “who are we” and “what are we doing here” and “why us”. The 21st century is said to be time for the developing nations to come forth and take the mantle of the world. But, things like science and technology which are to be the prime tools in the march of development, is being increasingly coming under attacks from religious and psuedoscience groups.
Evil of all, religious extremism is growing in the every religion in India. Government and every other organisations are turing a blind eye on them. It is a ticking time bomb, especially in a country like India where every 100 meters provides a different cultural difference.
One feels there is a lack of platforms for scientists to come and organise and do something about it. I dont know whether any kind of science group is working in India against this growing so-called spiritual culture of people of India. Science pioneers and scientists should come forward, and be the protectors of society safegaurding and bourgeon the importance and power of REASON.
It is important to know that without religion, good will always be good and bad will always be bad. But more importantly, with religion, Good can be made to look as bad. It is important to be in constant vigilance.
Certainly, religion is calling the shots in Indian society. A child even before he could process what is GOD is indoctrained into his/her parents religion, there by pushing them in to a trap that he/she will never (or rarely) comes out of. It is like the movie MATRIX where humas are kept for battery power for the clones. I wonder whether the Movie Makers had religion in mind at the time of making that movie.
Governement should provide and influx more information on these matters in society. For example, i dont even know what should i do or where should i go to delete my religious status. I dont even know whether anyone can do that in India – do a man have the right to delete his religious ties and live as a complete independent human ?
One of the most important view put forth by religious bodies is that religion and only religion can develop the moral standard in a human. I think it is a laughing idea. If i remember Adolf Hilter who was a practising chritain did almost anything one can dream about evil, so is the case with killer of Gandhi. I for example dont practicse religion, still i dont go raping or steal money from others. Moral standards dont have anything to do with religion. It is just another lie propagated by religious bodies to have their tight control over the throng. Moral standards might have been impregnated into human DNA with evolution – an altruistic gene. With evolution of science and technology, there have been changes in every field, including the moral side of human beings. About 50 years ago, almost everyone was a rapist, now the case is different.
Society should encourage its rational thinking and give more importance for REASON than magic and mystery associated with main stream religion. Religion is a nonsense-information which is being passed from generation to generation. Even the fact and idea that human beings are exploring the solar system for new planets and searching for other life form dont impart enough sense to those who believes in a GOD who is concerned about providing heaven and hell for those who deserve it.
A kid is born as a human being – an independent life, noone but he/she has the right to change that when the he/she becomes a major by 18 years of age or when he/she feels they know a thing or two about the matter in question. Influxing a religion or religious thought in a minor child should be seen in the same light as a fitting case of child abuse.
